Intro

Yassine Ben Abdallah (1994) is an artist and designer whose practice interrogates the cultural and political legacies embedded in objects. Working between La Réunion and Europe, his research-based approach explores questions of heritage, cultural identity, and belonging. Deeply informed by the colonial history of La Réunion, where he grew up, his work emerges from personal and collective stories shaped by displacement and creolization.

With a background in social sciences and design, he combines critical inquiry with material experimentation, using objects to challenge established narratives.

His work is part of several public collections, including the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam,  the Van Abbemuseum in Eindhoven and FRAC in La Réunion. He is the recipient of the Grand Prix at Design Parade, Villa Noailles (2023), and the Gijs Bakker Award (2022).
